UFC 119
Former UFC Welterweight champion, Matt Serra is talking about his rematch with his fellow "Ultimate Fighter" season four cast mate, Chris Lytle at UFC 119 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Speaking via ESPN.com, Serra said:
“Last time it was two guys fighting not to lose, and this time it’s two guys looking to take each other out. And I’ll tell you something: Not only is he fighting in a rematch in a fight where he lost a very close decision with a lot on the line, but he’s fighting in his hometown, in front of everybody he’s ever known from his family on. He’s going to want to make a statement … You know, we’re both durable veterans that are well-rounded. We’re both not easy to get out of there. I know he’s thinking the same thing as me, if he’s able to take me out, that’ll say something. And I’ll tell you right now, there’s nothing I want more, either … To me, it’s all about the journey. The glass is always half full for me. Life is short and so am I.”
Serra is coming off a first round victory over Frank Trigg at UFC 109 in February. Prior to that Serra suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of Matt Hughes and Georges St-Pierre.

National Tequilla Day
National Tequila Day is July 24th – a time for all Americans to celebrate tequila in all its forms, from the incredibly cheap rocket fuel that powers house parties when the keg runs dry to the complex spirits designed to be sipped and savored like a fine whiskey.
And why shouldn't it have its own day? Appreciation for what's considered North America's first native-born distilled spirit is at an all-time high. In fact, the Mexican liquor is the fastest growing distilled spirits category in the U.S.
It's no surprise. Tequila has been exported to the U.S. since the late 1800s, but only recently have the liquor-drinking masses have found much use for it beyond day-glo hued margaritas and mind-numbing benders. Now there are premium and super-premium tequilas as smooth and nuanced as any single-malt scotch that have been embraced by the American market, with the category growing by nearly 10 percent per year since 2002.
At The Varsity we have a large selection of tequilas for you to enjoy, and in honor of National Tequila Day we are making all Tequila Cazadores Reposado doubles only $5.50.

Summer State of Mind
Summer Ale is refreshing, crisp, and tangy. Brewed with an exotic mix of spices, the flavor is perfect for a summer day.
Wheat ales originated near Brussels, a wheat growing region in the 14th century. The style got its name from its lighter color and cloudiness or veil, the result of suspended wheat proteins in the beer. These crisp ales were often brewed wit coriander, juniper berries, and orange peel. We decided to use lemon zest and grains of paradise, to give our Samuel Adams Summer Ale its unique flavor. Grains of paradise, also known as Malguita Pepper, are more closely related to cardamon than pepper and according to medieval legend were thought to have aphrodisiac properties.
Refreshing, crisp, and tangy, Summer Ale is brewed with wheat malt, lemon zest, and Grains of Paradise, a long-forgotten and mysterious brewing spice used by medieval brewers. This mix of spices creates a crisp and spicy flavor and body.
